Responsibilities

The Senior Media Analyst is responsible for assisting the Consumer Insights & Planning department in developing, analyzing and maintaining all research systems and preparing comprehensive market and industry research information as an integral part of the daily operation for MSG Networks and all of its operating properties.

 

 

This position will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on viewer’s TV viewing behavior, and satisfaction levels using a comprehensive set of primary and secondary research tools. Will distribute and analyze Nielsen overnight ratings for MSG Networks, and develop competitive television programming and competitive sales estimates. The Senior Media Analyst will also maintain, update and distribute viewership/usage reports for MSG Networks’ digital products, manage in-season and end-of-season analyses of Network performance and manage the MSG Networks online viewer council; including the conceptualization, setup and analysis of panel surveys. 

Qualifications

The ideal candidate must have 2+ years market research experience and a bachelors degree in a related field; advanced degree in statistics/analytics highly beneficial. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, strong understanding of Nielsen ratings applications and systems (such as Arianna, NPOWER, Nielsen Local TV View) and a strong understanding of digital analytics tools and nomenclature. Working knowledge of the systems that generate audience data including Scarborough preferred. Candidate must possess strong analytical and communication skills, including the ability to translate complex data into actionable findings and recommendations and excellent written and oral skills. This person should have very strong PowerPoint and Excel experience (including the use of advanced excel formulas/macros).
