    This individual will have an integral role in supporting the corporate accounting and financial reporting activities for MSG Networks Inc. which will include having responsibility for a variety of month-end and quarter-end general ledger functions, including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations. This role will also assist in the analysis of our health and welfare benefits (such as employee related payroll transactions, medical and dental expenses and insurance costs) and corporate accounting transactions (such as debt, pensions and share based compensation). In addition, this individual will assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual documents that are filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”), including the preparation of Management’s Discussion and Analysis and footnote information disclosed within these documents. This individual will be responsible for ensuring that we have adequate support for all financial information included in our SEC filings and our earnings releases. 


    Specific Functions/Activities Summary:

    • Preparation of various journal entries and other supporting schedules used in the preparation of the Company’s monthly and quarterly supporting documentation to the financial statements.
    • Preparation of various balance sheet reconciliations and other account analyses.
    • Preparation of monthly payroll subledger to general ledger and bank reconciliations, including tracking of payroll withholding taxes.
    • Preparation of select footnotes for the Company’s SEC filings. Ensuring that information used to prepare footnotes is relevant and verifiable.
    • Ensuring that we have adequate support for all financial information included in our SEC filings and our earnings releases.
    • Assist in preparation of the Company’s XBRL files for the 10-Q’s and 10-K.
    • Special projects as assigned.


    • Minimum 1 year accounting experience.
    • Attention to detail, strong self-review and strict adherence to deadlines is critical.
    • Strong analytical skills.
    • Must have strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced detail oriented environment.
    • Must be proficient in Excel and possess knowledge of automated environments.
    • Strong interpersonal skills – this position has daily interaction with finance and non-finance personnel; as such, candidate must have ability to interact with various levels of management and staff.
    • Previous experience using Oracle Financial Systems is a plus.
